Making use of the Analyse School Performance (ASP) and the Inspection Data Summary Report (IDSR)
The Analyse School Performance portal gives schools access to a detailed analysis of their 2024 performance measure data, as well as their Inspection Dashboard Summary Report (IDSR).
The session will include:
Familiarisation of the portal
Interpreting the IDSR
Interpreting data charts and graphs
Question Level Analysis
Interactive tools
Time will be given for delegates to analyse their own school’s data so it is essential that all participants make sure they can access the ASP portal through their DfE sign-in account.

Getting to know your school's Inspection Dashboard Summary Report (IDSR)
During this session governors will have an opportunity to:
Understand how the Inspection Dashboard Summary Report (IDSR) is used by Ofsted when preparing for a school inspection
Become familiar with how data is calculated and presented in the IDSR
Have an opportunity to look at their own school's IDSR and consider questions they might want to raise to leaders
Find out about key accountability measures for primary schools
Consider best practice in assessment processes in Primary schools
Governor Chair Briefings
This briefing session is an opportunity for Chairs of Governing Boards and committees as well as Vice Chairs to meet.
The session will be held virtually.
We will share updates about the latest national, regional and local information including:
Pupil outcomes
Ofsted inspections
Budgets and finance
Statutory requirements
Partnership work
There will also be an opportunity for governors to network with colleagues and share best practice across Royal Greenwich schools.

Role of the Safeguarding Governor and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024
This is a virtual course.
This course will investigate the specific and important role of the Safeguarding Governor, to ensure the:
legal requirements are in place and are known and understood by all staff and adults working in your school
expectations of OfSTED are being met and that governors can provide evidence of their compliance
expectations from Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance are fully understood and embedded
This is a certified course to support Governors evidence of KCSIE compliance.

Safer Recruitment
This workshop is the Safer Recruitment Consortium accredited, updated version of the Safer Recruitment training for Headteachers, school Governors and other staff who are likely to sit on interview panels or appoint staff.
It is still a requirement for every school appointments panel to include at least one member who has completed the Safer Recruitment training.
Course content provides clear explanations of government guidance regarding the safer recruitment process. It also includes an update of the most recent legislation changes (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and the pre-employment checking process that impacts on Safeguarding and Child Protection.
It is recommended that you refresh your training every 5 years.

The changing role of SEND Governance (virtual)
This course will explore the specific and important role of the SEND Governor ensuring:
The legal requirements are in place and are known and understood by all staff and adults working in your school
That your school is ambitious for all our children with SEND and they are supported to reach their full potential
The SEND governors have the required skills and knowledge to challenge the provision in place and the use of the notional SEND budget
There will also be an opportunity for governors to understand the process of applying for an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) including the amount of evidence that is required and discussions with external agencies, this will also include the timing and procedure for the annual reviews.

Complaints Training for Governors (Virtual)
The course will support Governors to understand their role in managing all complaints and concerns raised about their school. An effective complaints policy that is understood by the school community will help to ensure that any concerns or issues are dealt with effectively and a quick and positive outcome is secured.

Sustaining High Quality Governance for Experienced Governors
This session will equip participants with the skills needed to provide appropriate support and challenge to leaders in their school. It is aimed at governors who have served at least one full term of office (4 years) and will provide:
An overview of most recent statutory responsibilities
An overview of how to ensure that the school leadership, including governance, is fit for purpose and meets expectations from LA, DfE and stakeholders

Managing a deficit budget
This course will support governors to manage the school budget when there is concern that there could be an in-year deficit or accumulated deficit budget.
It will allow governors to consider where savings could be made, some of which could happen immediately, others would be more long term. The session will also cover the role of:
the Greenwich finance team within this process and how they can support the school
the terms of reference (TOR) for a deficit recovery committee (DRC)
Understanding the governors role in Headteacher pay
This course will be held online.
This course will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the statutory requirements for Headteacher Performance Management and will include:
Overview of statutory guidance
Organisational details of the Headteacher Performance Management process, including the role of the external advisor and the requirements for target reviews
Exploration of best practice target setting including how these should link to the school priorities, outcomes for students and mental health and wellbeing
Information on actions following Headteacher Performance Management reviews and the role of the Pay Committee in this process
The importance of comparing evidence provided against the expectations of the School's Pay Policy and the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document
Evidence provided by the Headteacher and how to use it to make strategic decisions on teachers' pay
Evidence expected for a request to move through the Threshold or Upper Pay Scale
Challenging requests for pay increases and have a clear rationale for any pay increase refusals
