Educate Against Racism

Sharing best practice event
Local leaders and community groups shared successful projects that they had implemented in their schools during their racial equity journey.
This included developing a robust race equity plan and its impact; CPD to disrupt bias and improve racial literacy; collaborative opportunities with the Royal Museums Greenwich and how to recruit and retain a diverse team.
“Coming together with determined and motivated professionals and listening to their ideas in relation to developing practice to promote equality. Very powerful.”
“I feel inspired on our journey to becoming an anti-racist school”
Aspiring global majority leaders
Aspiring leaders from a global majority background came to listen to local leaders who shared their leadership journey. The event also included a key-note speech by Dr Paul Miller who talked about national trends. Over 80 aspiring leaders attended this inspiring event and had an opportunity to network with colleagues. As a result of this, the EAR partnership offered follow-up training sessions and mentoring opportunities with global majority leaders.
“Extremely useful. The session gave me great insight into barriers that I had never thought about. ”
“The entire session was very inspirational. Lots to think about and practical takeaways.”
EAR curriculum network
The EAR curriculum network is open to all schools in The Royal Borough of Greenwich and we welcome EYFS, primary and secondary colleagues. We provide a safe, supportive space for schools to discuss how to aim for a racially equitable curriculum. As well as time for colleagues to discuss best practice and next steps.
We know that by working collaboratively, we will most effectively support the students of Greenwich and ensure that we are delivering the best possible curriculum and enrichment opportunities for them.
